School Council

At the start of each academic year, children put themselves forward to be part of the School Council. Their class vote for one child to be their school council representative. The school council meets half-termly and has a number of responsibilities and goals throughout the year.

What are the School Council working on this year?

This year, the School Council is continuing to work on achieving our 'Green Flag' award which demonstrates and recognises the school's efforts in becoming more environmentally friendly. This year we are working on reducing our energy consumption, improving the biodiversity in our grounds and recording all the times our learning includes environmental themes or learning opportunities.

The School Council entered a competition to name some of the new West Berkshire Food Trucks. We had 3 winning entries and 3 food trucks have been named as follows

  • Sir Andy Curry
  • Food Feaster 2.0
  • The Garbage Gobbler

Other school council duties include selling poppies during Remembrance, decorating the Christmas tree in the hall, working with the headteacher and Governors as representatives of pupil voice, and organising a fundraising event in the Summer Term.
