Vision and Values

Vision

We want all our children to be happy, feel safe and able to learn during their time at The Willows. Our staff strive to create a safe, happy and secure environment in which all children and adults can engage in a meaningful learning journey to reach their full potential. The school and learning environment is a tool for learning which values contributions from all children and adults. Staff and children work together to develop a positive “learning culture” across the whole community.

Personal development, self-esteem and wellbeing are a focus alongside opportunities to enhance key skills such as thinking skills, emotional skills and social skills such as co-operation and collaboration

“If we can give children the skills to communicate, to work together, to present, to talk, to be confident, to be successful – they will be confident and successful learners in whatever career they choose.”

Values

Our school community is represented by a set of values, created by the children and staff at the school.

These values shape the way we behave, the way we treat each other, the way we communicate with each other as well as our actions in school. Our values create a common sense of belonging where strong and positive relationships exist and continue to be developed; diversity is appreciated and valued and opportunities are available to all. They inspire and encourage everyone to value learning and make the most of every opportunity available to them in order to develop their intellectual, spiritual, social, moral, physical and cultural wellbeing.

Our values support all children and adults to become:

  • successful learners who enjoy learning, make progress and achieve
  • confident individuals who are able to live safe, healthy and fulfilling lives
  • responsible citizens who make a positive contribution to society
